1 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE TENNESSEE YMCA YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT |

3 | Section 1: Terms in this act will be defined as follows: |
4 | a. Wild Hogs: Hogs that populate Tennessee outside of domestication causing damage to the |
5 | Tennessee ecosystem and economic productivity |
6 | b. Tennessee Hunter Safety Course: It is designed to help new hunters of all ages to become safe |
7 | and responsible individuals of the hunting community |

9 | Section 2: An additional section will be added to the Official Tennessee Hunter’s Safety Course |
10 | informing potential hunters on the dangers that wild hogs pose to Tennessee’s ecosystem and |
11 | steps that can be taken to reduce the population. |
12 | a. This additional course will contain statistics on environmental and fiscal damage caused by the |
13 | spread of wild boars throughout Tennessee, as well as hunting regulations and preventative |
14 | measures that can be taken to control the population. |
15 | b. This additional course will be implemented in both the online and in-person Hunter Safety |
16 | Course, in Unit 9: Understanding Wildlife, between Topic 3: Wildlife Identification and Topic 4: |
17 | Summary. |

19 | Section 3: This act will have minimal fiscal cost for the State of Tennessee, as the Tennessee |
20 | Hunter Safety Course is already implemented and taught. Any possible cost will be paid for |
21 | through the Law Enforcement budget under TWRA. |

23 | Section 4: All laws or parts of laws in conflict with this are hereby repealed. |

25 | Section 5: This act shall take effect upon passage, the public welfare requiring it. |
